I’m Lance Walley, founder of PollyTrade. I thought of the idea for PollyTrade while reading a newspaper.

There was an article about some company in which I wanted to buy shares. I’d been watching for awhile and decided it was time. I just wanted to execute a trade with minimal effort.

Minimal effort to me means tweeting something extremely simple.

Simple like this: @pollytrade buy 100 shares AAPL

PollyTrade is the result. It does exactly what I imagined for easy, quick trading.

Should You Trust PollyTrade?

I know people will be skeptical of a new Twitter service, especially one that asks for your brokerage account login info.

Please look up Quality Humans, Inc. (”QHI”), the consulting company I started in 2001 and the company behind PollyTrade. QHI is a California corporation, so you can view public records to see that the corporation and its shareholders are in good standing.

Check out Engine Yard, Inc, which I co-founded in 2006 and was CEO until I departed on good terms in May 2009. Engine Yard is a leader in its market and has notable investors (Amazon, Benchmark Capital, & New Enterprise Associates). Those investors trusted us with $18M and we did not disappoint.

I love building small technology companies and I’ve long been a small-time investor and speculator in stocks and commodities. PollyTrade brings together both.

Beta Period, Limited Users

Because PollyTrade is new, we’re only taking a small number of beta users. We’ve executed over 40 trades using my personal brokerage account and we have not seen any problems.

We’re asking early users to only utilize PollyTrade with a brokerage account that does NOT contain a substantial portion of their wealth.

I’m using a brokerage account that’s separate from my main brokerage accounts. I started the account with a small amount of cash and then increased it on June 25, 2009, once we passed the 25th trade successfully done via PollyTrade.
